oh, and its one day left in the competition. theres one submission so far - consisting of 2 words.. i probably will pospone the deadline (i got a feeling it this might turn into a running gag..). for motivational purposes, i hereby declare that there stuff to win! so - go for it!

the story continues..

because of numerous requests (by leo), here another story about the till-dawn hero, puss:

this little fella was 'born' in scotland. i made a really cool story about him with good olde kyle titterton (him doing the words) but didnt find the right book recently. instead, i found these - part of a rather long series.

more old stuff..

being back at my folks, i browsed through some old sketchbooks..
and found something which i think might as well be posted here...

and because it is not 'live' art, but drawn years ago, heres another one..

here we go.

i hope you all figured out how to design your heroes and rescuees as i noticed i didnt really explain how to do it - so here for those who didnt yet (DONT READ TODAYS COMIC IF YOU HAVENT DONE IT YET, its really important):

go to last days post and click on eyes, nose and mouth of the persons visible. when you have a result you are happy with, read the first part,

then read today's second part (remember to use your imagination to apply the faces to the persons) and come up with a cool caption for the last panel. sent it to me (jpeg or swf are best) and i'll publish the best one (i'll try to translate it) in.. say, one week.

cheers and good luck.

ps. leo - puss geht weiter am mittwoch! mit neuen episoden

ready.. generate.. go!

okay - i intended to start the first till-dawn competition but times too short, so its only the first part for now.

i'll also post the hero generator, so you can until tomorrow choose the face you wanna identify and start 'your' quest with. (and the face of the person you want to rescue, too..)

happy grinding!

a belated happy birthday to the .
it started as a comic-competition which i heard of a few days too late to join and now has developed an incredible life of its own, created a network of comicartists formerly unknown in its kind to me. and bringing much attention and respect to the comic-medium i love.. seeing all those people doing the daily comic thing encouraged me to do my own, so thank you for that. and thank you for all the wonderful stuff you churn out every goddamn day.

[swf src="/swfs/053.swf" height="800" width="600"]You must have Flash to view this file[/swf]

tough.

looking back, i dont find the animal-rights comic very funny anymore.
i think that its quite hard to successfully combine political correctness and wit (i will however keep on trying: i recently heard, that the tissue-company 'tempo' is fighting the native folks from the rainforest, and wanted to make a comic about that.. but couldnt come up with a proper one yet. but please go and have a look here - english version at the bottom of the page)

anyway, this reminded me of a drawing i made a while ago:

[swf src="/swfs/052.swf" height="800" width="600"]You must have Flash to view this file[/swf]

it is quite hard to translate, but if i had to try, i would do it like this:

the comfortable and the useful are often hard to combine.
(one german word for 'to combine' is 'verbinden' which also means 'to tie together', so theres a german pun involved that makes translation tough.)

helau und alaaf.
